Congratulations to Hector Torres Rivera, Public Utilities Intern & Lezzly Garay Hernandez, City Clerk Intern for successfully completing 50 hours of work-based learning (WBL) through the City of Westminster’s 2024 High School Internship Program!
Internship programs like the City of Westminster truly make a difference in students' lives by providing valuable real-world experience or work-based learning. Credit goes to The City of Westminster's Human Resources Department, Martha Heinz, Senior Workforce Outreach Coordinator, and the department supervisors who take on interns once a week for ten weeks to improve and enrich internship student experiences since 2018.
High school juniors and seniors are encouraged to apply to City of Westminster Internships posted annually in November for up to eight different career internships.
The Future Center guides students through the application process assisting with resumes, cover letters, references, and mock interviews. In December, City of Westminster interview students from various high schools. These positions are extremely competitive.
Work-based learning (WBL) opportunities truly change students professionally and personally. Thank you for being a leading example of what it takes to demonstrate a commitment to investing in the future workforce and fostering talent within students!
